PCB to Send Injured Saim Ayub to London for Medical Treatment

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has arranged for Saim Ayub to receive immediate treatment in London following an injury. Naqvi personally reached out to Ayub to offer his support and ensure that the cricketer gets the best medical care. Specialists in London will evaluate Ayub’s condition, with medical reports already sent over.

Ayub, a promising batter and a key player for Pakistan, is being sent from Cape Town to London on the next available flight, accompanied by assistant coach Azhar Mahmood. The PCB is hopeful that Ayub will recover fully in time for the Champions Trophy.

Ayub suffered a right ankle fracture during the second Test against South Africa at Newlands. The injury occurred while he was fielding on the opening day of the match. The 22-year-old will be sidelined for up to six weeks, missing competitive cricket.

This injury has also created an opportunity for Fakhar Zaman’s return to the national team. With Ayub’s injury ruling him out for the near future, Zaman could take his place as an opener. The injury comes at a time when Abdullah Shafique has been dropped from the squad due to poor form, leaving a spot open for Zaman.
