Aubrey Plaza was recently seen spending quality time with her close friend Jerrod Carmichael, just days before the tragic loss of her husband, Jeff Baena.
In exclusive images obtained by Page Six, the 40-year-old Parks and Recreation actress celebrated New Year’s Day at a Knicks game alongside the comedian.
The pair were photographed enjoying the NBA matchup from the celebrity seating area at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Plaza sported a black jacket paired with an orange cap, while Carmichael kept his outfit casual.
The two share a long-standing friendship. Carmichael, 37, is openly gay, but neither his nor Plaza’s representatives were available for comment regarding their outing.
Plaza and Baena had been together for a decade before quietly marrying in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the years, the actress and the filmmaker collaborated on multiple projects, including Life After Beth in 2014 and The Little Hours in 2017.
During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Plaza recounted a humorous moment on their 10th anniversary when she suggested doing something special to mark the milestone. “I joked about getting an ice cream cone or maybe even getting married,” she shared.
