The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the updated player categories for the 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL), elevating cricketers Hasan Ali, Mohammad Amir, Saim Ayub, and Usama Mir from the Diamond category to the prestigious Platinum category.
The revised list features 87 local players, with several high-profile cricketers moving to higher categories. Prominent players like Imad Wasim, Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Babar Azam remain in the Platinum category.
The Diamond category now includes 16 players, with Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans each contributing four players. Karachi Kings have three, while Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi each feature two players in the Diamond group. Lahore Qalandars have one player in this category.
In the Gold category, 30 players are listed, with Peshawar Zalmi leading with seven players. Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, and Quetta Gladiators each have five, while Islamabad United and Multan Sultans have four players each in this category.
The Silver category consists of 16 players, with Quetta Gladiators, Lahore Qalandars, and Peshawar Zalmi providing the majority of players. Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans each have two players, and Islamabad United has one player in this category.
Finally, the Emerging category includes 12 players. Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United each contribute three players, while Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans provide two players each. Quetta Gladiators and Lahore Qalandars have one player each in the Emerging category.
