In a recent intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted by Pakistan’s security forces in South Waziristan, 30 terrorists were killed, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday. The operation, carried out on Monday in the Sararogha area, targeted a reported terrorist presence.
The security forces engaged the militants effectively, resulting in the elimination of 30 terrorists. The statement also mentioned that sanitization operations were underway to ensure the complete removal of any remaining terrorists from the area.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating terrorism, noting that the sacrifices made by the forces only strengthen their resolve. This operation comes shortly after four soldiers were martyred and 15 terrorists were killed in two separate IBOs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Saturday.
The region has seen an increase in terrorist activity, particularly since the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) broke a ceasefire agreement in 2022. Recent reports highlight a sharp rise in terror incidents, especially in KP and Balochistan, with KP recording the highest number of terrorist attacks in the country in 2024.
